Move-In Day

New York City checking in at dorm curfew. It is the end of our orientation weekend and we are all excited to start our internships tomorrow. We've had a busy couple of days!

We checked-in on Friday morning as early as 10AM, EST; some of us traveled by plane, train and automobile but we all made it safe. We moved into our dorms, found out our roommates and started our month in the New School 13th Street Residence in the heart of the West Village. We quickly explored the dormitory and found a beautiful patio for late night chats, a lounge for the after-internship movie or piano playing, and the cafeteria to eat our freshly catered food. After our first meal together, we all walked over the New York University Palladium Hall for an orientation introduction with excellent speeches of taking advantage of opportunities by Seth Flowerman, the company president and founder. There were also reminders from Jeff Sharpe, our High School Coordinator, and Vanessa Foster, our Summer Coordinator, of how valuable and memorable our summer internships will be for us. The Group Advisors ("GAs") performed their own memorable skit of how to make the most of your summer, and also how not to spend our summer. That Goofus!

We split off into our GA Groups for a Dessert Treat. We tried everything from mini-cupcakes, to ice cream, to cookies! What a great treat to the end of a hot day. We learned the importance of curfews and all arrived on-time and safe before midnight. Lights were out at room curfew after a long, fun day meeting our new friends at Career Explorations (CE). More to come about the rest of our first exciting weekend!
