The first day of our internships were nerve-wracking, but they turned out to be really fun and a great experience. We are excited to continue the internship and see what more is to come. Living in Union Square is so much fun! It's in such a great location and there is so much to do and see in this area. At first, it was a little tough getting used to college dorm life, but its turned out to be an incredible experience, the large bathroom line being the only exception! Roommates and floor-mates have turned into awesome friends and it is so much fun to hang out with them in and around the dorms. It has also been really cool to meet so many people from all over the world including countries like Saudi Arabia, England, Japan and Greece! Daily, we get up and go to our internships, come home to a catered dinner, and have some kind of evening activity at night. Thus far, our favorite activity was going to see the Broadway musical Rock of Ages where all students rocked out to music by Journey and Queen amongst others. It was so funny and so much fun!! Although the CE catered food is good, many of us choose to go out into the city to discover the many delicious foods that New York has to offer; the Pinkberry around the corner is definitely a favorite! New York Pizza and bagels have definitely lived up to their reputation! The subways were certainly a challenge at first for many of us! Now, I can say for sure that we have become much more comfortable riding the subways, and manage to reach our destinations without getting lost too many times though we have had frequent encounters with the famous New York Subway rats! It is really great to be able to know how to navigate through the subway system of NYC!
Overall I think it's safe to say that our first week has been a great success with all the wheels set in motion for a great 4 weeks of summer!
