The Great Pizza Debate

CE Chicago:

Here is a blog by our interns and their thought on Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. Something to think about the next time you order a pizza or pie:

The classic Chicago vs New York pizza debate. Our group almost unanimously agreed that New York offers the superior pizza experience. The results are questionable, though, since a sizable majority of the group hail from New York. One local intern, defending his city as well as his taste buds, claimed that Gino's East is a weak variation of Chicago-style pizza and cited the superiority of the pies served at Lou Malnati's restaurants across the city. Another intern rejected the entire notion of Chicago style pizza, referring to it as a "doughy bowl of tomato sauce" and "too much of a pie." Though each of the inters all agreed that Chicago-style pizza can be very delicious, this crowd was tough on the deep dish. As the debate rages on, it seems clear that it ultimately boils down to whether you're used to ordering a "slice" or a "pie".
